In 2009 the OMID foundation started in cooperation with the Nkong Hill Top Common Initiative Group (NCIG) Buea Cameroon a project to help needy widows, whose husbands have died of AIDS. These women are struggling for survival and live on the edge of society. They are victims of prejudice and are accused to have caused the death of their husbands by witchcraft. The project made it possible for them to receive micro loans to buy young animals and to train them to raise and sell chickens and pigs. This enables the women and mothers to care for themselves and their children, to have access to medical care and school education.
