Since 2008, the OMID foundation has supported the Iran Alzheimer Association. Alzheimer disease is almost a taboo in the Iran. There are no organizations dealing with this problem and to provide medical care. The Iran Alzheimer Association is the first organization to provide daycare for the sick. Facilities were rented to render medical and therapeutic treatment, to train and counsel family members how to care for the patients. The expenses for the therapy equipment and transport vehicles, as well as rent, furnishings and renovations have been covered by us.
During our visit we could see firsthand how affectionately the patients are treated by the employees and voluntary helpers, and how much they benefit from the equipment provided.
So far we have supported this project with a total of EUR 67.931,91.
